At 15:37:23 Beijing time on October 31, the Long March 5B Y4 carrier rocket was launched from the No. 1 launch site at the Wenchang Space Launch Center. Approximately 493 seconds into the flight, the spacecraft and rocket separated, and the carrier rocket accurately delivered the Mengtian experimental module of the Chinese space station to the entrance of the predetermined docking initial orbit.
At 3:37:23 PM Beijing time on October 31, the Long March 5B Y4 carrier rocket was launched from launch site No. 1 at the Wenchang Space Launch Center. Approximately 493 seconds into the flight, the rocket and capsule separated, and the carrier rocket accurately delivered China's space station's Mengtian experimental module to the designated initial docking orbit entrance. At 4:27 AM on November 1, after the Mengtian experimental module was launched into orbit, it successfully docked with the Tianhe core module's forward port, marking the successful completion of the flight mission. In this flight mission, multiple products manufactured by Weimai, including pressure accumulator diaphragms, bellows assemblies, pipeline compensators, and flexible metal hoses, contributed to the successful "quest for the heavens" of the Mengtian experimental module, once again delivering excellent results.
The Mengtian experimental module, the largest spacecraft China has built to date, is the third module and the second science experimental module of the Chinese space station. It consists of a working cabin, a payload cabin, a cargo airlock cabin, and a resource cabin. With a launch weight of approximately 23 tons, it is primarily used for conducting space science and application experiments, participating in the management of the space station complex, and supporting cargo automatic entry and exit via the cargo airlock cabin, providing support for scientific experiments inside and outside the cabin. The flexible metal hoses produced by Weimai play a crucial role in the vacuum exhaust system within the Mengtian experimental module.
For aerospace professionals, "POGO" vibration (longitudinal coupled vibration) is a familiar term. During rocket flight, a type of longitudinally unstable low-frequency vibration, known as "POGO" vibration, occurs. This vibration can cause various equipment malfunctions within the rocket fairing and significantly impact the rocket's structure, especially for large-capacity rockets like the Long March 5B. To eliminate the negative effects of "POGO" vibration, accumulators (hydraulic pneumatic accumulators with metal bellows, which are pressure-accumulating hydraulic oil devices based on the compressibility of gas) are used on the boosters. A total of 24 accumulator diaphragm assemblies are used on the four boosters of the Long March 5, all produced and supplied by Weimai, playing a crucial role in ensuring the stable flight of the carrier rocket.
